Based in Billericay, with satellite offices around the UK, we are a team of insurance professionals with an expert knowledge of the risks associated with the Haulage sector.

OUR TEAM

Benn Houghton

Managing Director

Benn has 17 years’ experience in the insurance industry, most of his time has been spent specialising in wheels-based sectors. Benn leads the team at RHAIS and is responsible for the delivery of our proposition and for ensuring success for both internal and external shareholders, including the RHA and its Membership.

Benn’s speciality focuses on tankers, hazardous goods, larger fleets and complex risks. In his spare time Benn can be found on the football pitch or hiking in the Peak District.

Darren Bird

Client Director

Darren has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and is our in-house expert and technical lead for the RHAIS Waste Division. Darren holds responsibility for our larger waste & recycling clients, as well as key Haulage accounts; whilst ensuring that the highest standards of day-to-day service and claims standards are delivered.

James Blea

Client Director

James has been with the business for almost 5 years, bringing over 15 years of insurance experience to the team, with a speciality in waste & recycling, as well as haulage and warehousing risks. James works alongside Darren within our RHAIS Waste Division and is the RHAIS representative for the West.

In his spare time, James enjoys holidaying in Spain, is a keen golfer and can also be found wearing matching outfits with Darren at most work events.

Liam Chatfield

Development Manager

Liam is our Development Manager and brings with him a wealth of experience after 10 years of insuring the haulage industry. Having supported a wide range of businesses over the years, he feels that “it’s not just about price, although that is certainly an important factor. I like to demonstrate our value, by getting to the heart of my client’s issues. Whilst every client is different, chances are I have come across similar situations before.

Ryan Warfield

Senior Client Executive

Ryan has over 10 years’ experience in insurance, with expertise in all elements of haulage risks, and is one of our lead experts within the complex Liability and Financial Lines policies.

Being our only executive based in the South West, Ryan looks after a significant client base and prides himself on delivering the best-in-class for service standards.

In his spare time Ryan is an avid golfer and enjoys travelling with his partner.

Jamie Turvey

Senior Client Executive

Jamie has 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. His current job role is a Senior Client Executive. bringing expertise for Haulage Risks, which include, Motor, Employers & Public Liability, Freight Liability plus many more. 

He is based in the South East and is a huge football fan. He enjoys playing golf in his spare time. 

Sam Burton

Senior Client Executive

Sam is our Senior Client Executive with over 13 years experience in the insurance industry with expertise in all aspects of Haulage and Fleet risks. 

Sam is our only executive based in Cornwall and looks after a sizeable client base and ensures to provide the highest of standards. 

In his spare time Sam can be found on the golf course or watching local sport teams and is also the chairman of his local snooker club. 

Ollie Witmarsh

Senior Client Executive

Ollie has been working in the insurance industry since 2008. He was an Underwriter for 10 years before becoming a Commercial Broker in 2020, specialising in Fleet risks. He obtained his Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) in 2013. . .

He is based in the South East. In his spare time, he enjoys long bike rides and walks with his wife and 3 children.

Luci Jeeves

Head of Key Accounts

Luci has worked in insurance for 13 years, starting with private car and home, then moving to commercial insurance 7 years ago. Due to the change in the market since she has started, she has gained better knowledge and experience, building good relationships with insurers and refining her area of expertise. Luci’s daily job role is to manage the Administration Team, processing vehicle change, driver referrals, invoicing all adjustments and day to day queries for the running of the business. 

She is based in Essex and in her free time she enjoys going to the gym and spending time with friends and family. 

Sam English

Key Accounts Manager

Sam has been with the business for 16 years and in total offers over 30 years’ experience working within the insurance industry.

Sam works alongside the Client Directors and Sales Executives on larger waste & recycling clients, as well as Haulage accounts whilst ensuring that the highest standard of service is given.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her Grandchildren and her husband of 34 years.

Amie Felton

Senior Claims Handler

Amie has over 20 years experience within the insurance claims industry, predominantly with large insurers. She has dealt with claims for personal, motor trade and commercial lines as well as dealing with complaints when they arise. 

Outside of work, Amie enjoys going on long distance hikes, encouraging her son and daughter to join her.

Ryan Williams

Key Account Manager

Ryan started working in the Haulage and Courier industry in 2018 and has a wealth of experience. Ryan’s role is Broking Accounts Handler, which involves helping the day to day admin of those clients along with taking care of renewals. 

He is based in North Cornwall and spends any free time with his partner and two children. He also enjoys playing football for Boscastle FC.

Sophie Chandler-Green

Key Accounts Manager

Sophie has worked in the insurance industry for 15 years, starting with Private Car & Fleet. She was fortunate to be able to take some time off to have both of her children, then returned to work 18 months ago. 

She is really enjoying being back in the office environment again, gaining experience and knowledge of a new sector in insurance. Sophie is based in the Billericay office in Essex, and in her spare time she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends. 

Derry Daly

Senior Claims Advisor

Derry has been with the company for over 17 years and is a client claims adviser having obtained comprehensive experience of all insurance covers from Motor Fleet, Material Damage, Liability,

Plant Machinery, Goods In Transit and Professional Indemnity claims. Derry aims to provide clients with lifetime value for all their insurance needs by being dedicated to customer service and striving to develop long-term relationships with clients whilst keeping their best interests at heart.

Derry has developed excellent professional relationships with our larger clients especially in the Waste & Recycling sector. Derry also works along with the claims staff of various insurers with the goal of securing the best possible outcome for clients.

In his spare time Derry enjoys reading, having a keen interest in history and in travelling with his family and friends around the UK and to the various UK Museums and historical sites. He intends to pursue a degree after reaching his retirement.

Darren Cordery

Head of Claims

Darren has over 20 years insurance claims experience from working for independent brokers to multinational insurance companies. Within the claims team Darren manages the RHA Insurance Services Clients and provides the vital link between the client and the insurance company.

In his spare time Darren likes to attend a variety of sporting events with friends and family.

Liam Wood

Senior Account Handler

Liam has worked in insurance for 9 years, with experience across many different products and trades in commercial insurance.

Liam works alongside the Client Directors and Sales Executives to provide a high standard of service and accuracy on a variety of clients, mostly focusing on the Haulage sector. This includes processing vehicle adjustments, driver referrals and any other day to day queries.

In his spare time he enjoys football and spending time with friends and family.

James Young

Senior Claims Handler

James has over 26 years’ experience in the insurance industry, mainly working for large multinational insurers with most of his experience being in claims, covering all different lines of insurance including Motor Fleet, Motor Trade, Commercial Property & Commercial Liabilities. James enjoys building strong relationships with customers and insurers and has completed an NVQ in customer service. 

When not working, James enjoys spending time with his wife, son and going on walks with their 7 dogs. 

Michelle Hicklin

Claims Advisor

Michelle has over 15 years of experience within the insurance Industry and has specialised in outwards reinsurance claim recoveries.  Michelle has been with the business for 2 years and works in the claims department ensuing that our clients’ needs are met and claims are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

In her spare time, she loves socialising and spending time with her husband, two kids and dog Elsie.

Samantha Watling

Accounts Assistant

Sam has over 15 years of experience within Accounts, from treasury to financial reporting. Sam has been with the business just under a year and works as the main Accounts Assistant dealing with finance applications and accounts receivable which enables her to build up relationships with the client and their accounts team. 

In her spare time, Sam is a fitness instructor and teachers 4 times a week. She also loves watching her two boys play football and cricket and when she can fit in a spot of shopping.
